Atlanta startup, Goza Tequila, has been producing the smoothest tequila since their launch in mid-April of 2015. For those who have been intimidated by the taste of tequila, Goza has managed to take the intimidation out of it in more ways than one. Tequila’s vast market doesn’t seem to intimidate the Goza team, creating believers in tequila one person at a time.
Jacob Gluck, CEO of Goza Tequila and Atlanta native, takes a grassroots approach to Goza’s marketing to young professionals within the greater Atlanta area. It’s no surprise that this has been a wild success resulting in the rapid expansion and presence within Atlanta’s most popular bars and restaurants.
Goza’s bottle artwork has been specially created by world-renowned Pop artist, Burton Morris.
Goza’s 100% Agave tequila is distilled in Arandas, Mexico. Made from the finest Mexican agave, it’s grown in the highlands of Jalisco for nine years before harvest. Tequila from this region has a more fruity and herbal taste and smell, which produces a premium flavor that has created quite the buzz within Atlanta.
Goza, meaning “enjoy” in Spanish produces three premium varieties: Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo:
Blanco (silver) is a combination of floral, fruit, and a hint of vanilla.
Reposado is distilled in depth, as it is aged for six months in white oak barrels creating a balance of oak and smoke flavors.
Lastly, Alejo has the most depth after being aged for an entire year in white oak barrels. The taste is warm with hints of brown spices and honey.
Goza has crafted a unique and flavorful tequila which differs from their competitors like Patron, Casamigo, and Don Julio. From the aesthetics of the bottle to the quality of the agave used within the production process, Goza’s involvement is completely controlled. “The land our agave is grown on the distilling, aging, bottling — it’s a total vertical integration,” says Gluck.
You’re able to enjoy this tequila on the rocks or as a cocktail. Goza pays close attention to the details of their production process and it’s apparent in the quality of their tequila.
“Atlanta is the perfect breeding ground for new and upcoming companies.”
What inspired you to launch a tequila company here in Atlanta?
Jacob: Atlanta is where I was born and raised, and is where the majority of the Goza team was born and raised. In short, this is home to us all. So it only made sense to start here. In addition, Atlanta is the perfect breeding ground for new and upcoming companies. Combine those two things, and you have the perfect city for Goza Tequila to call home.
Where can we find Goza Tequila within the Greater Atlanta area?
Jacob: Goza has experienced great expansion within the area. You can enjoy our tequila at restaurants such as: Ormsbys, No Mas Cantina, JCT Kitchen and Bar, Pure Taquiera at Inman Park. Goza Tequila is served at over 300 bars and liquor stores like Power and Green.
“Too hard to say where Goza will be in a few years, but what’s most important is that we continue to be true to the quality of the product…”
Where do you hope to see Goza Tequila in the next few years?
Jacob: I hope that Goza continues to grow and gain new customers in Georgia, and over the next few years, in other states as well. Too hard to say where Goza will be in a few years, but what’s most important is that we continue to be true to the quality of the product, the brand, and the people that make it great.
“Atlanta has a vibrant and ever-growing community of ambitious entrepreneurs and businesses; we all support one another.”
Has the startup ecosystem been helpful in the growth of Goza? In what ways?

Atlanta has a vibrant and ever-growing community of ambitious entrepreneurs and businesses; we all support one another. Goza has had the opportunity to partner with some of the brightest people in Atlanta. It’s a great environment to be in.
